Located in the North part of Mesa is the Red Mountain Ranch Golf Club. This is a 6,600 yard championship golf course designed by Pete Dye. Noticeable are the railroad ties in the bunkers that are a signature Dye design.
For years the Red Mountain Ranch golf club was private but with the recent turn of events in the economy they have opened up this course to limited public play also. If you are a resident of the community they offer several different membership packages.
The Red Mountain Ranch golf course offers gorgeous views along with spectacular desert landscape and several unique water features.
Most of the fairways are wide which makes for easy placement of your tee shot. More skill comes into play on your fairway to green shot as these greens have sloping undulations and are usually very fast. Par 4′s demand a precise second shot and Red Mountain Ranch golf course is challenging to the most seasoned golfers.
There are 6 holes were water can come into play and there are a total of 58 bunkers protecting the greens on this course. The Red Mountain Ranch golf course demands a good short game if you want to end up with a good score.
The upscale Red Mountain Ranch clubhouse offers a pro shop, restaurant, lounge, showers and member locker rooms. Also a very nice practice facility with range and both practice greens and bunkers.
Green fees at Red Mountain Ranch are very affordable and if you like to play golf in the Summer, as I do, if you book a tee time on their web site rates are extremely affordable!
